On July 2, 1922 history was changed when Ralph Samuelson became the first person to successfully water ski. We are honoring the anniversary of our sport by offering everyone the chance to learn to ski!
USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, along with our affiliated ski clubs across the country, will host free learn to ski events during the summer of 2025. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is covering the cost of sanctioning and guest memberships for all affiliated ski clubs who participate in Get on the Water!
Get on the Water provides local ski clubs with a national platform and the opportunity to connect with your community to find new skiers to keep our sport alive and thriving.

This is a free learn to ski event. Clubs MAY NOT charge participants for the opportunity to ski. Clubs must allow guest members to participate.

Key Dates
May: Promotional materials such as a press release template, social media images, and suggestions for local promotion arrive via email. Start marketing your event!
Participant registration opens online. Your participants will sign up online and you will be able to access your participants roster through the registration system. You are encouraged to reach out to participants once they have been added to your roster.
June-August: Send reminders to your participants with all of the information for your event and celebrate Get on the Water! Don't forget to invite your participants to stay connected with our sport!
Basic Skills Clinics
Can't fit Get on the Water into your club's schedule?
Clubs are encouraged to host Basic Skills clinics at any point of the year. The cost is only $30 to sanction.
When hosting an event outside of Get on the Water, clinics are still provided with clinic guidelines, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports sanctioning, and online guest membership registration.
